With the window valence and soffitt in place, I wired in the LED hi-hats and powered them up to test them. They look like the right size and brightness for this application.

Here two more Centerline Brackets (countertopbracket.com) supports are used on the peninsula to support another overhang. The cabinet has been channeled and reinforced at each point of attachment.

Here is the island countertop support bar. I am very impressed with the strength, powder-coated finish and fast delivery of these hardened-steel brackets from Centerline Brackets (countertopbracket.com). The island base cabinet has been channeled and reinforced at both ends of the support bar.

Once mounted on the wall, the exhaust hood looks a little less menacing. But it still weighs over 100 ponds! It also consumes most of the interior of the cabinet above it.
