Did we make the December 1st date? Well, it's a little like the Presidential election... We're still not sure whether we made it or not. We have not fully occupied the new house pending a few things like running water, finished floors and a certificate of occupancy, but we have certainly left our old Chappaqua house behind.

December 2. I don't remember buying all this stuff. It forms a mountain in the new garage.

December 2. The revised closing date gets discussed. Maybe mention of Xmas and a few tears could speed things along.

December 2. We posed on the front porch for our annual Xmas card photo. That's apparently a halo over Austin's head.

December 3. The kitchen cabinets, minus the soffits, countertops, plumbing fixtures and a few major appliances, are installed.

December 9. The master bath marble is in. No mirrors yet.

December 9. The long-sought Jacaranda granite (recall "Have you seen this granite? It's photo belongs on a milk carton" July 9 photo) can now be found in the kitchen. I have to admit that it really does look like the original sample. I've never seen anything like it before.

December 9. The kitchen island counters and cooktop area are finished. The backsplashes remain to be done.
